Cross-country, Free Style Snowcross, and Snowcross snowmobile racing in Alaska
| The first WSA Alaska race of 2005 held in Fairbanks, Alaska on January 29th. The weather was a crisp 20 below with clear skies. The race was being held at the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds for the first time, last winter the races in the Fairbanks area were held at a track in North Pole. The track was very tight and made for some really exciting racing. There were spills and trills in almost each heat, even the little guys racing the 120 class had a number of tense moments as drivers and sleds crashed off the course. The stands were the best place to take pictures from on January 29th, but we plan on adding some from the pits for the next race. |
